When we asked fantastic knit designer and yarn queen Jill Draper to pick her faves for our Kollabora Sock-Along with Sarah from KnitYorkCity we knew that was no easy feat! Check out her picks and make sure to stay tuned for our next rad Make-Along!
It is so inspiring to see so many lovely versions of Hermione’s Everyday Socks! It was fun to see a few people use the pattern to make their first socks ever, good for you, Kristin and krisnicole, and Nishi! The socks look great and hopefully will keep your toes cozy all Winter long.
I think knitosaurusrex’s fraternal pair is fantastic, her creative addition of one blue stripe – to make up for a yarn shortage reminds me of the quilts of Gee’s Bend and their way of using what was readily available. The ombre yarn Patricia used is so pretty, it seems like she will be wearing most perfect and dramatic sunset on her feet. How could you not smile wearing these?!
All the finished socks look so amazing and everyone who knit along should be so proud of them! I am a bit biased, but a soft pair of handknit socks on a cold day is one of the best mood altering drugs in my opinion. Once you’ve worn them the store bought socks just don’t compare. Thanks Sarah & Kollabora it has been great following everyone’s progress!
And congratulations to the 3 winners chosen at random to receive a skein of Jill's awesome yarn:
