We're gearing up for the holidays around Kollabora HQ which means lots of making, lots of working, but still lots of fun. We took time out midweek to have a morning meetup in Brooklyn to brainstorm new ideas for the site, on Tuesday we put our crafting space to good use and got caught up on what everyone in the office was making, and on Friday we worked on a series of new tutorial videos and project stories that we hope are going to inspire you guys to get started on some awesome new projects.
Cold weather has us all a little bit obsessed with knitting right now. Carol and Nora have started knitting up some projects using our awesome new Kollabora Yarns, while Lindsey is hard at work on the Loopy Mango Hera Sweater. We even got our UX designer Rick to pick up a pair of needles and get started on a hat. Let us be the first to say that we are suckers dudes who knit.
In between all of that making we figured you guys might want to see the end results. We had a fantastic photo shoot with our beautiful model Amanda whose mop of gorgeous curls was giving everyone in the office some serious hair envy.
We were so excited to finally be able to feature the dress Nora created using the Betty Dress pattern from the German line Stolt. We caught up with the designer behind the label, Meike Bambuch, and can't wait to bring more of her modern, edgy designs to the Kollabora community.
The totally adorable Gabi from xoJane put her maker skills to the test with our Hand Chain project last week and we are loving the results. Check out her finished piece and see how you can win a $200 Kollabora gift certificate from xoJane!
And now, back to the real topic of conversation: the holidays. What are you making for everyone on your list?! We're not sure either, but we've started a series of rad gift guides that we're sure are going to help you (and us too!) get through the season in serious style.
Until next week - never stop making!
