We've been so inspired this week, it's been difficult to focus when all we want to do is go home and work on projects. If you're planning to spend some quality time with your machine, needles, or pliers with weekend - we've got loads of links and photos to get to ready to make!

Since we saw this Herringbone Cowl over on the Purl Bee, we've been obsessed with learning how to do this stitch. Needless to say, we'll be spending a few hours with our yarn, needles, and this video hoping to perfect our skills.

Last Saturday we celebrated the launch of Gretchen Hirsch's book, Gertie's New Book for Better Sewing. You can peep all the photos on our Facebook page (and hey, if you're not - you should probably go ahead and like us on FB too. Just sayin.)

In case you've been living under a rock, we released these pretty amazing giant cross-stitch kits from Jessica Decker this week. You can learn more about the designer in her Meet the Maker profile and scoop up your own exclusive kit here

Our amazing biz development guru, Carol, is spending the weekend in Florence, Alabama learning about southern craft and design. Hanging out in the studio with Natalie Chanin ain't a bad way to spend a weekend...

If you needed any further validation that high-end craftmanship and making skills are in demand, this article from Reuters highlights how luxury houses from Hermes to Chanel are snapping up artisans the way Google and Facebook fight over programmers. As far as we're concerned, there's never been a better time to be a maker!
