To get started you'll need to cut a piece of chain 16-18" long, depending on how long you want your necklace to hang. You'll also need a few inches of wire (we used 24 gauge brass wire), 3 Howlite skull beads, a few small charms of your choice, and a clasp and catch.

You'll also need wire cutters, needle nose pliers and a pair of flat nose pliers.

Begin by taking a piece of 3" wire and creating an eye loop. To do this clasp the wire with your needle nose pliers close to one end, then push the end around the nose of the pliers to create a circle.

Make sure to leave some space between the wire and loop so you can slide your charms on. Once you've added the charms, wrap the shorter (arm) piece of wire around the base wire, at the top of the eye loop.

Wrap 2-3 times to secure. Clip remaining wire and flatten the end using the tip of your needle nose pliers.

Slide your skull bead onto the wire, placing it on top of your wrapped eye loop. Using your needle nose pliers, create another eye loop on top of the skull bead.

Make sure to leave enough room between the loop and the bead for you to be able to wrap the wire 2-3 times to secure. However, DO NOT start wrapping yet.

Find the middle link on your chain and slide it onto the open loop. Hold the loop securely with your flat nose pliers and use your needle nose pliers to wrap the arm wire around the base 2-3 times.

After wrapping your arm wire around the base, clip remaining wire and use your needle nose pliers to flatten the end. When finished, your bead and charm should look like this.

Repeat steps 2-6 to add the remaining skulls and charms to your chain. Make sure to count how many links you are leaving between beads so your necklace is equal on both sides and hangs properly.

You can add as many (or as few) beads and charms as you want. This necklace would look great with just once skull, or piled with loads of other beads and charms.
