Rope
Embroidery Floss in various colors
Leather Cord
Brass Fittings in assorted sizes to fit rope (found in sprinkler isle of hardware store)
Rubber Cement
Needle + Thread
Cut Rope

Cut 2 lengths of rope, about 14", and 6" respectively. Tape all ends with masking tape to prevent fraying while working.
Apply Glue

Apply Rubber Cement to the center of the longer length of rope, in a 1 inch increment. Lay the end of desired color of embroidery floss across the center of glued area. Then guide the floss to the edge of gued area, and start wrapping the floss around the rope starting at the edge of glued area.
Wrap Floss

Continue wrapping floss toward the edge of the glued area, making sure there are no spaces between the floss.
Pull End Through

When you reach the edge of glued area, thread a needle on the end of embroidery floss. Push the needle back under the wrapped area, pulling the excess thread out the opposite side.
Trim

Trim the excess thread.
Add More Floss Colors

Repeat the previous steps, with as many colors as you wish.
Add Brass Fittings

Slide Brass fittings onto rope as desired.
Add More Brass Fittings

Add more brass fittings to the shorter piece of rope as desired. Cap each end with brass fitting too.
Finish Ends
