60s Sailboat Blouse
by marie Follow

vintage pattern (from 1964) and fabric.

one of my favorite (most wearable) vintage patterns i've made so far!  a perfect fit without alterations except adding length. the curved hem and the no-dart, boxy shape are just my style. i can’t wait to make the long sleeve version!  I did flat-felled seams throughout, which made it take a bit longer to complete, but was actually kinda fun.

david says this top looks like something a character in a wes anderson film would wear.  (probably a little boy at summer camp).

blog post.

oh, everything about this is adorable! I absolutely love sewing flat-felled seams, they make the garment even more special. I agree about the Wes Anderson comment- but it's in such a good way!

thanks!  i ♥ flat-felled seams, too.  ...if only i could make clothes for 'real' wes anderson characters to wear.  :-)

I have a very similar vintage pattern I picked up recently. Yours is so cute! This is motivation for me to make my own now :P
