I wanted to make a fun tank that would flatter my shape. My mom taught me in sewing that a contrast bit of piping aroung the narrowest part of my upper torso would be slimming...and even though i was knittin gI thought it might be a good idea to try!

Thr upper portion of Alana has 2 strands of yarn held together. One is a wool yarn the other is a silk blend. The band is created from a single strand of the darker colour and the bottom with a single strand of the lighter colour---which also happens to be lighter weight.

The side panels have the increases worked in to the stitch detail.

The neck line was the most fun!

I am pleased with how this came out and look forward to making another one...or two!

I used :

  • 1 skein of Oriana and Maia by Space Cadet Yarn (mars and How Dare You! Colourways)
  • US6 and US7 circular needles
  • Tapestry needle
