This is a challenge in the challenge: it's a refashion of a pair of pants and a wrap skirt into an A-line Sixties Dress that I'm designing... can't wait to see the results (also because I still haven't decided how to refashion those clothes!)
I'll be wearing this dress at my friend Eriqua's wedding, on September 22nd, so it's perfectly on deadline... Wedding's theme is violet, so I'm adding some violet details on the right side, made from a T-shirt I bought from Decathlon in XXXL for € 3,00... what a deal! You can't find jersey more affordabe here!! I'm planning to stabilize it with some fusible interfacing... Has anyone tried? Will that be a mess? Will see....
I'd like to add pockets and a lining, a zipper on side, french darts... Oh, and I have a Zara's knock-off planned for my daughter's dress too (I'll be sharing in a different post - this one is also designed by me!)
I am "just-a-little-bit" Pinterest addicted so I've created a Group Board for my (our) Refashion Obsession (it's a Mood Board) and I'm hiring contributors... If you like the idea, let me know, I'll add you with pleasure!
I finally decided to use only the t-shirt and the pants, I had more than enough fabric also without refashioning the skirt too! Here's the on-progress project, pics of the finished product coming soon! What do you think of it? I've made the pdf pattern all by myself and I'm planning to make it downloadable (for FREE!!). Would you like it? Let me know <3
Here we are: a t-shirt and a pair of trousers morphed into a Mod Dress. I wore it yesterday to a friend's wedding and everybody liked it (and no one guessed it was made from old clothes!)
In the ebd, I added a little Moebius scarf, made from odds and ends from the Mod Dress and some white t-shirt, just to keep my throath safe from the wind!
I'm posting the pdf free pattern and a tutorial (as usual, ful of big pics) later this week so, please, stay in touch by following me on my blog SergerPepper.blogspot.it
Thank you for voting my Refashion Project!
