Quickly became obsessed with this Kollabora project by Clemence of Oh The Lovely Things. You can find the tutorial here!

I used enamel paint as a base since my blue nailpolish wasn't extremely dark...and I was worried about it chipping (it's really cheap polish). I used back enamel paint, blue metalic nail polish, red nail polish, champagne nail polish, and silver glitter nailpolish. Then, of course, I added a top coat of clear nail polish and 2 coats of satin UV acrylic varnish (see my supplies!)

Curious is that cheap nail polish ever did chip? Pretty cobalt blue!

Actually no! It's holding up nicely! I think using the artist's enamel paint as a base coat really helped it stick, and the paint is really thick. I also used a thick coat of clear nailpolish on top and UV varnish to protect it. It hasn't deteriorated at all.

Oh it turned out SO pretty!  I love the idea of using enamel paint. I'll have to try it next time. The result is gorgeous!
