I Heart Aran Sweater
by Allegra Swanson Follow

Going well so far! One small mistake in the cabling but it’s tough to notice until I point it out. For my first sweater, I’m feeling pretty good about it so far!

Summer knitting, 2013
This has been chugging along slowly but surely. Have reached the top of the sleeves and as this is the first time I’ve made something that’s got sleeves, I’ve left it for a while until I can go into a yarn store somewhere and get a bit of help with some of the terminology. But! Back = completed, front = completed, and only a couple of little mistakes here and there! Completely 100% sure the sweater will be HUGE on me, but okay with making it a baggy cottage sweater. Considering sewing on plaid elbow patches.

  • STUCK! Since it's my first time knitting a sweater, I have no idea how to do the cap of the sleeves. The pattern is written well, I'm just not familiar with the language and I seem to be missing something!

Your cables are looking incredible! I can't believe it's your first time! How are you doing? Still stuck

Thanks! And yes, still stuck, but I think I'm just going to go into my LYS and ask for their help. Easier than stressing alone!

Well, I'm not sure if you're going from top-down, but maybe this video will help?

    Keep us posted!

Probably this helps? It's anotherperson who had difficulties with the sleeves and found some mistakes in the pattern. I can't see from the photos, is it a seamless sweater where you knit body and sleeves in one run or are the sleeves worked seperately?
