#makermonday hat

Knitted up this hat this morning and afternoon for Maker Monday!
I originally started it with the intention of sending it to one of my best friends who is currently in veterinary school. But after getting about sixteen rows up, I realized that I had absentmindedly been knitting my color changes way too tightly, and there was a visible diagonal line across the back. Maybe it wouldn't be as obvious to someone not looking directly at it, but it was driving me crazy. Instead of frogging it, I started doing it more loosely and decided to keep the hat for myself and start another one for her. You can see in the second photo where I realized my mistake. Whoops!
Still generally happy with the hat. I'm wearing it right now and it's really cozy!
I've written up a pattern. You can find it on my blog here.

great color combo!
Thank you! They were two colors I happened to have on hand, and they worked out well together. :)
I love this so much. I actually can't tell that there is a mistake really. Did you use a pattern? I'd love to make one.
Thank you! No, I just made it up as I went along. I used size 11 needles, cast on 54 stitches, and knit in the round, changing the color every row until I was happy with the length. I may write up a pattern eventually, and I'll let you know if I do!
Hey, Nora! I've written up the pattern. You can find it here: http://msquaredknits.tumblr.com/post/69441107212/makermondayhat
