Marbled Clay Necklace

A cool mix of marbled colors and jagged textures, this easy-to-make statement necklace project by Kollabora x Jo-Ann is the perfect piece for both layering or wearing alone.

  • Step 1: Warm the clay using your hands and start to mix the two colors together.

  • Step 2: Continue to warm the clay and begin to twist the two colors together to create the marbled appearance.

  • Step 3: Use your razor blade to start cutting and shaping your beads. You will be able to make about 4 large and 3 small beads out of the clay. We used 4 larger and 1 small piece for our finished necklace.

  • Step 4: Using your eyepin, make a hole on either side of your clay bead  (this is where your eyepins will go when you are assembling your necklace later). 

    Bake beads according to instructions on clay packaging.

  • Step 5: Secure your eyepins into place on either side of the bead by dotting superglue onto the end of the eyepin and pressing it into the hole.

  • Step 6: Using two sets of needle nose pliers, link your desired amount of beads together using jumprings, then attach your chain and clasp.
