Monogrammed Linen Napkins
by Meg Kealey Follow

For my in-laws, Mike and Mercy, Christmas 2013.

  • MIter and pin a few before sewing, then go back and re-pin the first one or two (the learning curve is huge).

  • To cut perfect linen squares, pull a warp/weft thread and cut along the run for the length of the napkin. It's tedious an takes exponentially longer than cutting with a rotary cutter, but the result is worth it (I picked that tip up from the Purl Bee as well).

a trick i learned in one of my classes was to snip a little on a warp/weft thread and then rip it with your hands. its a lot easier and the ripping is a bit therapeutical

Wow, I love these!  It might also have to do with the fact that those are my initials, too.  :)
