muumuu short suits
by Anna Follow

I was shopping in a thrift store one day and I saw a garment with a neon house pattern on it. The only problem was it was an oversized muumuu...

I bought the muumuu since I fell in love with the fabric and made separates out of them - a pair of shorts and a jacket to go with it.

The shorts were patterned by myself (I'm wililng to share the pattern once I trace it on Illustrator) I think Kollabora's umbraline summer shorts are better to use since there are pockets unlike mine and the pattern can be purchased right away.

The top part just had to be taken in on the sides and I cut the middle for the opening. I took the sleeves off with a seam ripper, patterned my own sleeve using this awesome link uploaded by craftstylish. I made some changes to the collar and the neckline as well.

Since the fabric was a little rough, I put a black lining inside. This took a bit of time since the collar for the jacket and the bottom of the shorts were blind stitched by hand.
