My Great Big Sewing Resolution 2016
by Champagne Twist Follow

Hello,

I have made a very simple resolution this year - sew more!

I, like countless of sewing hobbists, have collected yards and yards of fabric, trims and bits and bobs, which are all neatly stashed away, hardly ever seeing the light of day.  Well for me - NO MORE!

Over the next few months, I will take an inventory of all the fabrics and trims I have, with the aim of reducing them to create items of clothing, things for my home and gifts for my family and friends.

There is only one rule - the deadline for new purchases runs out on 31st January, 2016. After that date I can not buy any more fabric or sewing materials until I have used up at least 20% of my current stash.

So please join me on my sewing adventures in 2016, as I try to keep to my sewing resolution.

I started a BINGO game with myself in hopes of sewing my stash in 2016.  I have been rockin' the sewing, but I fell off the wagon and bought a bunch of fabric.  I am goint re-adjust my thinking and try for not purchasing again!  So glad to hear I am not the only one.  I suppose I need to figure out how to post everything up here...

Hi Sarah, thanks for your comment.  It is so hard not to buy fabric, especially with so much to tempt us! But you have been rocking the sewing, so as far as I see it ... I didn't see you fall off any wagon, you just replenished your supplies.  :)

Look forward to seeing your recreations here.

Me to. I go in my craft/sewing room and rearrange fabric and patterns often. I guess I just need to touch them, admire them. Make sure no one took them? Good luck, for I to, am trying to get the mo jo to sew.

Ha ha, I'm the same. My fabrics have been arranged, rearranged and then re-rearranged just for good measure.  But forcing myself to sew something each month has really helped me to stop looking (and feeling guilty) and start making.  Thanks for your comment, it's nice to know I'm not the only one :) Hope you get your sewing mojo soon.
