On Modcloth I saw Luck Be A Lady Dress in Garlands and I liked how colorful garlands made this basic silhouette come to life.. In my fabric stash I had perfect striped cotton for making my copy of that dress..  For bodice I modified pattern 111 from Burda 11/2008.. The skirt is full circle.. I also put exposed zipper on the back..

Since this was the second time I was using that pattern from Burda, I knew the fit would be good.. I was lucky not to have problems with stretching the fabric of circle skirt..  I like how this dress turned out, even though it is a bit serious for my taste..
