Quilted Prefontaine Shorts
by Anne Rust Follow

We decided to try the quilt as you go method and make a pair of shorts to wear as PJ bottoms .. they turned out so fun, and so comfy, that they won't be staying in the bedroom!  blogged here  http://peacockhill.blogspot.com/2014/08/shorts-on-line-summer-sew-along....

Supplies

Recap

  • I used one 5" charm pack and a package of premade bias binding plus scrap batting and backing. I made half square triangles from all my charms, then pieced them together in strips 3 squares wide. I layered plain muslin and thin batting. Then I sewed the strips to the batting/backing one at a time using a stitch and flip method until I had enough for each pattern piece. Then I strait line quilted the sandwitched pieces and cut them out and assembled according to the instructions in the pattern. We washed them as soon as we were done to get that comfy crinkly quilty look and feel!
