Bikini Monday by Katie Canavan
The unofficial kickoff to summer, Memorial Day is the day to dust off the grill, clean out the cooler, and head to the nearest beach to soak in some much needed rays after a rainy spring. It’s also a time to remember America’s fallen soldiers. Originating after the Civil War, Memorial Day was established as a day to pay tribute to both the Union and Confederate soldiers who gave their lives fighting in that war. Today it’s a day to celebrate the service of every fallen US military veteran. The fact that we get to lounge in our bikinis at the beach on Memorial Day is because of their service and sacrifice, so keep them close to your heart as you ring in the summer!
