Usually I don’t wear this type of skirts.. While browsing through skirt patterns from Burda magazine, model 123 10/2010 caught my eye.. It’s simple, high-waisted and mini.. This is my muslin version of the skirt.. I just wanted to see if it’s something I would wear.. I used gray velvet.. It looked a bit boring just like that, so I sewed on velvet trims which I bought a couple years ago..

The high waist is the thing I like the most with this skirt.. It’s so warm and the skirt doesn’t move around as some other models.. My matchy matchy styling of the outfit is the result of not having any other sweater, shirt, top, to wear with the skirt.. Maybe this will motivate me to knit a cropped sweater, or sew a cropped top.. I’ll probably make another version of the skirt out of a wool fabric..
